I can’t say a lot about France because I don’t remember very much. I went to Paris with a trip to Eurodisney for the weekend with the youth club when I was just 10 years old. We went by coach and caught the ferry. One thing I do remember is that the journey there was never ending. I also remember being quite excited at the prospect of eating croissants in France – well, I was a kid so can get away with being weird! Funnily enough, I do not remember much about Eurodisney, just that there were Disney characters everywhere. Well, there would be wouldn’t there?! We ended the weekend with a trip to the Eiffel Tower. I remember being quite disappointed at not being allowed to go up to the top; I don’t remember why but think it was something to do with health and safety and the weather that day. I also vaguely remember being on a boat on the Seine and ignoring everyone for a few minutes just so I could take in my surroundings. Looks like a part of me appreciated other countries at a young age.
I would like to go to Paris again one day, just so I can appreciate it and experience its culture. Tons of the world’s most famous and recognisable landmarks can be found in Paris and I would make sure I see them all. Having said that, I can’t help feeling you wouldn’t experience French culture properly unless you get outside the French capital. Going from landmark A to landmark B won’t really do it justice.
